Design: Polytechnic University 3D Printed Face Shield

Pros:

  • This appears to be the earliest 3D printed visor openly shared; the article was published Feb 25, 2020 and they had already made hundreds!
  • They use a simple elastic band and crimp the ends -- you can easily use a tourniquet to tie off the back if you can't find a huge roll of elastic bands

Cons:

  • I can't find the damn STL file anywhere; its easy to redraw though
  • Again, no reference for where to find plastic; and how to size/space the holes for the fittings (looks like 4mil mylar plastic though; found at most craft stores)
